  I have worked with Dundalk FM during my summer and Christmas holidays to improve and learn more skills while undertaking my degree in media.I have gained confidence in editing, presenting and in my own voice. I had the opportunity to air interviews I've done on various events and co-present on different shows such as Good Morning Dundalk and The Lunch Box Show. I've read out the papers on air with the Lyons Club for the visually impaired and have voiced over many adverts on Dundalk Fm. In 2012 I did an Irish Language project for Dundalk Fm and it won a Craol Award and a sum of money for the station. I have also been involved in Sound & Vision Irish language programming in the summer of 2012 which focused on music acts and of course the cúpla focal which was called Dundalk Fm Beo. Show less

  I spent 9 months working as a presenter, producer, researcher with Raidió na Life and have gained invaluable experience. I produced and presented my own hour long radio show, 'Míreanna Mearaí'.More Information about Míreanna Mearaí:"Helena Ní Mhaoláin brings her new show 'Míreanna Mearaí' to the airwaves.   Irish Language Assistant (Cúntóir Gaeilge)

  I spent 9 months working as Irish Language Assistant with Craol, this entailed visitations to the 23 member stations of Craol around Ireland. I gave talks about how to promote and broadcast the Irish language. I also organised a training course, in Rath Cairn Gaeltacht, with guest speakers which was open to all member station Irish speakers to participate and to train them to broadcast through Irish on air.

  I interviewed many great music artists and presented some comedy sketches- I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone for this one but thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and learning curve in improving and developing my presenting skills.

  I presented various shows such as the Castleblayney Fair Day and the Music Show. I produced the Music Show and featured up and coming local talent, prodominenantly in the North East.   I was PRO with the Dundalk County Council to promote local, community and charity events such as the World Record Breaking Dundalk Santa Fun Run (which raised awareness and funds for local charities) & the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Dundalk. I worked on press releases, updated the social media accounts of the clients I worked with & liaised with the local papers to get as much coverage as possible.
