      A fantastic learning experience that allowed for me to develop an understanding of the role of the solicitor and allowed me to build upon my knowledge of how legal firms operate. I developed skills in administration and built upon my communication skills. I would assist a solicitor each day and organize folders for them, respond to potential clients and accompany the solicitor to court and accommodate them and their clients.

      The role was to engage the visitors of the museum and provide any help. It require direct communication and an awareness of how to approach people. As a history student this job was crucial in allowing me to gain an insight into the heritage sector and was essential in allowing me to view how mass information is relayed to the public eye. The role was informative in regards to both my working skills and education. It was a fantastic opportunity and I identify it has one of the roles that truly allowed me to build upon my skills and expand my knowledge of providing exemplary customer service. Show less

      The position at Hotel Football required me to perform in a variety of roles. The bulk of my work revolved around bar work. On match days and events the aim is to simply assist with tasks and ensure that things proceed as normal. Allowed for experience in cash handling and interaction with customers. A testing environment as we would have to serve and handle busy crowds as we are located outside of Old Trafford Football ground. From this experience I understood what standards need to be met in providing impeccable service. The hospitality setting certainly had high standards and it was our task to consistently perform to those standards. From waiting and serving guests to simply meeting them at the door, I improved in my communication skills and developed my skills in regards to providing exemplary customer service. Show less

      Currently located in the Christie Hospital, this is a food to go that is a franchise between M&S and WHSmith. The role requires the worker to be capable of performing in a variety of different roles. It requires us to make coffees, tea and hot foods. It also requires the worker to complete the role of a regular M&S supermarket staff member by having the member stock up the store as well maintain the high standards of appearance and presentation that the store has in place. The role is very demanding and the business is relentless. We have encountered numbers of customers in which we did not anticipate and the first few weeks have required a lot of hard work. We have exceeded expectations in regards to our sales and have received praise for our ability to upsell our products.In regards to personal development, it has allowed me to develop in my customer service skills and understand how to overcome obstacles and understand the customer much better. I have certainly made monumental advances in my ability to serve customers to an exemplary degree. Additionally, I am trained to prepare foods and make coffees to the expectations that Marks and Spencer's desire. I thrive in this environment and I have certainly understood how to take charge of a situation when necessary. My leadership skills have been prevalent in the workplace and I believe that this is a due to my satisfaction with my role and the confidence I have developed in performing in my role. Show less
