      STEM Tutor

Regularly meet with students who require assistance in courses with subjects related to science, technology, engineering and math. Most of my tutoring experience has been focused on mathematics ranging from elementary level to differential equations with linear algebra, and chemistry, both at the high school level and undergrad level including organic chemistry. Most of my students have been found through professors suggesting my assistance, or through an online tutoring platform called Wyzant.

As a generical chemistry course assistant I apply my knowledge of chemistry to creating recitation worksheets for student to complete during their recitation sections, one of which I host myself at the end of every week. On top of this, I hold weekly office hours for two hours where I answer questions and assist students with their work. Other responsibilities of mine include communication back and forth with the professor of the course, the TA’s, and the other CA’s along with accommodating students that request extra help with their coursework outside of scheduled office hours and recitation. Show less Work and collaborate alongside a graduate student on his project pertaining to Deep Machine Learning Analysis to assess stresses on protein aggregates from Flow Microscopy images. My responsibilities include understanding the machine learning code that has been designed in Jupyter Lab using Python, apply different variables to the code to test characteristics of the particles in the Flow Microscopy images. Responsibilities also include wet lab work such as flushing out the flow cam, inputting samples, and then running the images, along with using Dynamic Light Scattering to compare relative sizes of particles after being exposed to specific stresses. Show less Apply previously obtained knowledge of statistics and data analysis to the responsibilities specific to my position. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to grading homework assignments for students, with quality feedback and reasoning for the assessment, and then proctoring exams for students, followed with grading the exams. Along with this, communicating among my fellow CA, the advanced TA's for the course, along with the professor about consistencies with grading and patterns I've noticed among students and their relative understanding of the coursework. In my role I conducted thorough inventory assessments of multiple storage areas, ensuring accurate quantities, models, manufacturers, and application. This included my responsibility to cross-reference the current inventory with historical data exports from the previous inventory system to identify inconsistencies and then correct them which, led me to update and create new parts in the Blue Mountain RAM system, ensuring the database reflected the latest inventory status. During my time here, I collaborated with technicians and engineers to assess inventory needs, identify outdated parts, and determine proper storage locations. Show less
