  Worked in the Department of Geology researching the effects of road salt accumulation in local streams. Collected water samples and recorded data such as pH, temperature, and conductivity. Worked in a lab setting to process and analyze the water samples for salinity. Worked for the Department of Environmental Science and Technology conducting research on urban bat ecology. Collaborated with a team of students that traveled to Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Delaware to set up/ take down monitoring equipment. Used specialized sound equipment to record bat echolocation in the surrounding areas. Captured environmental data such as ambient temperature, humidity, tree canopy cover, and light/dark cycles.

  Managed invasive plants and controlled their spread through several methods, including mechanical equipment and chemical herbicide application. Utilize ArcGIS to document and analyze data from the field in order to develop informed plans of actions. Independently streamlined day to day workflows in ArcGIS by creating custom toolkit and models that automate repetitive tasks. Independently researched the return of plant and pollinator species to a meadow habitat following a prescribed burn event in March of 2018. Created and implemented a bio monitoring strategy in order to effectively capture and identify pollinators. Developed strong plant and insect ID skills, in addition to database management. Efficiently presented findings to park staff in the form of a presentation at the internship.
