      Treasurer

Global Brigades is a non-profit organization that provides resources and the capacity to inspire communities globally to help achieve their own health systems, economic development, and sanitation infrastructure. Our goal at the UIC chapter was to support this movement by planning a 7–9-day brigade to underserved communities like Ghana or Guatemala to help rebuild and allow citizens to support their own communities. As treasurer, I helped fundraise and recruit volunteers to allow for successful brigades and gain the ability to help these communities in their journey. This included budgeting and managing our fundraising goal and making sure every member raises enough money. This also included managing funds used to by equipment of supplies to bring with us on the trip. I was able to join the brigade to Ghana and spent 1 week living in a rural community and taking trips to two farming communities to provide healthcare. Show less
