  Managed an engineering prototype build for the next generation Military Mobile VACIS system. Leading all design aspects and internal/external resources with limited supervision to produce two prototype units with strict and extremely tight deadlines. Report to senior management through weekly formal design reviews.Engineering/Project lead on an integrated cargo inspection station with both an SAIC P7500 and M6500 as base platforms. Duties were to oversee all aspects of product design from concept through internal factory acceptance test to final customer site acceptance test. Systems were integrated with SAIC’s Optical Character Recognition technology for cargo/vehicle identification as well as Radiation Portal Monitoring technology to detect abnormal radiation. System completed internal quality acceptance on schedule.Mechanical Engineering lead on both the prototype and production Military Mobile VACIS system (73 systems). Lead design and integration of several aspects of the system from prototype to production units. Assisted PM through customer interface as necessary.Assisted program management of AIS/BFT project working with the US Navy to install encrypted AIS equipment on 26 NAVY Sea-Ark vessels. Developed equipment installation scheme and coordinated efforts with NAVY personnel both locally in Imperial Beach, CA & Norfolk Virginia. Managed efforts of install and manufacturing personnel.   Technical Lead and Subject Matter Expert supporting proposal efforts. Proposed designs included video surveillance systems, perimeter intrusion detection systems, intrusion barriers for a variety of different ports, video transport over data radio systems and ruggedized computing systems.Designed and implemented physical security measures for both the active and passive perimeters to a large campus. This project required both engineering design and project management activities as heavy collaboration was required with many different integrated project teams to achieve success.Team lead in-country for international installation of a command and control facility with upgraded C4I capabilities. I interfaced with the customer and provided project direction as required. Other duties consisted of conducting and/or organizing technical training on the delivered C4I upgrades, assist in program requirements collection, interface with several subcontractors/vendors as required and participated in final acceptance procedures.
