      Front of House Staff

Working as front of house staff at the Tavern was a challenging and rewarding time. It has, for the last few years, been voted as the premier venue in the whole of Western Australia, so I was constantly required to be a professional and well turned out at all times. There were also many foreign patrons who frequented the Tavern and as such I had to be patient and diligent when it came to taking food orders to avoid the language barrier the best I could

    • PwC

      Sept 2016 - Nov 2017
      Global Mobility Associate

I worked in the Tax practice whilst on the Higher Apprenticeship Scheme. Here I worked on a number of teams and projects and really learned the benefits of cross team collaboration. This work included, but was not limited to• International Mobility Consulting – Responding to Adhoc queries within the Centre of Excellence from clients that required employee moves. This involved researching both the client and the destination and looking into any legislation that might be problematic during the process of moving and establishing the assignee. I also helped to develop a smartphone app that was rolled out to clients. I was involved in the design of the layout and contributed to the content that was used in the final application. The team was going through a period of change and I was also involved in targeting new business acquisitions from within the firm by contacting other teams and understanding both their needs and what we could offer them. • Social Security – working on the risk and compliance side of global mobility. My duties included managing applications to HMRC allowing individuals to maintain their social security position in the UK while working abroad. Involved data gathering from clients then formatting the data to enable applications to be sent to HMRC. This role allowed me to cross over with other departments of PWC’s worldwide network, communicating with nationwide offices regularly, providing updates to teams around the country by updating and maintaining various trackers and sending detailed reports to senior managers and directors.Other projects: releasing foreign tax credits for an international Oil and Energy company. This project involved responding to and resolving assignee queries on client specific mailboxes utilising my team network and the firm’s wider network. I was required to work across the worldwide PWC network and communicate effectively with the other offices to coordinate the completion of tasks. Show less
