  I started my career as a customer service representative answering calls but quickly had the opportunity to complete the Management Development Program and was assigned to the Training Department. I worked for four years as an instructor, delivering training classes. My last four years were in the position of instructional designer and course developer for both instructor-led and self-paced training.

  As a member of Southwest's corporate university, I led a team of instructional designers and performance consultants. We designed resources for instructor-led training, self-study, and e-learning that were managed through the company's learning management system (LMS). Resources developed included leader's and participant's guides, instructional videos, games and simulations, job aids, and performance support systems. We used performance consulting resources to improve team and individual performance. We used leadership interviews and the Lominger performance-based competency models to create the company's leadership development program. During my time there, we also redesigned company’s new hire training and orientation program and numerous other employee development resources. My responsibilities including coaching, supervising, and mentoring the instructional design and performance consultant teams as well as managing these teams budgets and results. Show less
