      Bachelor Thesis

      1. A study has been carried out to determine the effect of the vortex generator on the scaled prototype of the wing and to determine the increment in lift and drag after installation of the vortex generator.2. Installation of rectangular, triangular, and oval shape vortex generators over the symmetrical airfoil wing and testing the effect of the vortex generator in the low-speed wind tunnel.4. A comparison plot of lift vs. angle of attack and drag vs. angle of attack has been made between a wing with a vortex generator and one without a vortex generator. Show less

Field of work:CFD AND SPORTS AERODYNAMICS1. Computational study of the Rotating Cricket Ball (an almost replica of the International Cricket Ball) is carried out under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Mittal.2. A Finite Element Study of Inverse Magnus phenomena in flow past a Rotating Cricket Ball at Re=100000.3. Investigation of Magnus, Inverse Magnus, Drag and swing force coefficient has been carried out using the tools MATLAB, Tecplot, Linux, HPC2013, and with the knowledge of Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics.4. This project will help in explaining some of the sport aerodynamics problem in cricket and the success of Jaspreet Bumrahโ€™s bowling in Indian Cricket Team. Show less

I conducted an analysis of intake radial and circumferential pressure distortion using Python code. The study focused on pressure recovery distortion and the "buzz" effect caused by various instruments and probes positioned near the intake, including IFRP (Inflight fuel probe), MFP (multifunctional probe), and IRST (infrared search and track). The study covered a range of Mach numbers, from 0.95 to 1.5, and included conditions at maximum afterburner. To streamline the process, I automated Excel files, and Python's data science modules were used to generate plots at different altitudes automatically. This project aimed to enhance our understanding of pressure distortion in aircraft intakes, providing valuable insights for future aerospace research and development.2. I have successfully developed a Python-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the meticulous analysis of Wind Tunnel data. These data sets, sourced from ONERA, a prominent French aerospace company, pertain specifically to the aerodynamics of the LCA MK 2 intake. The GUI, skillfully crafted using Python libraries such as Tkinter and Matplotlib, provides a user-friendly platform for extracting, visualizing, and deriving insights from intricate Wind Tunnel data.3.I conducted a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study involving the integration of a Low Band Jammer (LBJ pod) onto the LCA AF Mk2 aircraft. The primary objective was to compare the drag characteristics at subsonic and supersonic speeds. The software tools used included ANSYS ICEM CFD for pod attachment and meshing. Meshing was achieved through a combination of Euler and RANS methods, utilizing unstructured triangular elements to capture geometry and prism/tetrahedron elements for boundary layer and volume representation. For numerical simulation, we employed the Finite Volume Method and utilized the CFD++ solver. Post-processing and visualization of the results were carried out using Tecplot, and Excel. Show less
