My dissertation employed the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics software to research and investigate the relationship between the angle of attack of an aerofoil and the behaviour of the associated airflows.I also studied into the capabilities and importance of renewable energies, researching into, efficiencies, conversion rates and how modern energy conversion methods can compare to current practices. This was in addition to developing my understanding of manufacturing processes and how to best apply them to optimise product creation. Show less

      May 2018 - Sept 2018
      Summer Intern

I was employed by Siemens as an intern to schedule and manage components, for a new development engine, through the manufacturing processes to ensure on time, defect free, delivery. This management involved all external processes requiring effective and professional communication with sub-contracted organisations in addition to a range of skill/seniority levels for internal operations.I was also actively involved in a project called Blue Sky which was centralised around lean manufacturing and optimising processes to reduce manufacturing lead times. As a QHSE engineer I was employed by Wyman Gordon to develop safety operating procedures for all site-based operations, inspect and audit the site for risks & hazards and design & develop safety systems to aid in the prevention of injury, illness or bad health of all who worked or visited the Lincoln site of operations and to manage continual improvement across site to aim to provide a safe place to work. In addition to the above, I continued to provide the responsibilities I carried as a Quality Engineer.Responsibilities:- Identify, analyse and investigate root causes to events involving potential to harm operators and/or bystanders.- Development and implementation of corrective actions.- Management of contractors and review of RAMS.- Development of site floor through 6s audits.- Project management of safety targeted installations.- Continuation of Quality Engineer duties stated in previous role.As part of my ongoing personal growth in this role, I began to broaden my knowledge of Health and Safety by completing my NEBOSH General Certificate and began to study into the NEBOSH Diploma.
