      Project Intern

During my internship at Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd from 8th May 2023 to 28 July 2023, I had the pleasure of working on the Biometric Access System 2.0 (BACS 2.0) that Singapore Technologies (ST) Engineering was contracted to set up for Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) at Jurong Island Checkpoint. I was appointed to assist the systems engineers in the testing of the various on-site front-end and back-end devices, as well as the testing of various system devices within DevOps. My main role in the testing process is the automation of data collection from the system log files and sending the concise data back to the System Engineers for further processing. I also helped the System Engineers in the data analysis of the data extracted from these log files as they needed to determine the most optimal device parameters. The main tool I used for this was Python and its various modules for scripting and automating the extraction of data in these log files and the data analysis of the extracted data.Overall, my internship has provided me with valuable insights into the structure and various processes of my scholarship sponsor company. As well as valuable insights into testing and management of various products and devices within a complex system integration project such as Jurong Island BACS 2.0. I am grateful for all the knowledge I have learnt and I look forward to contributing back to ST Engineering when I graduate in 2 years’ time. Show less
