I supervised technicians, postdoctoral fellows and students who did research in my laboratory on causes of blindness. I had responsibility for writing grants to national and private foundation organizations to secure funding for large pieces of equipment (electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, etc.), supplies and salaries for members of my laboratory. I also supervised seminar series for students, residents and faculty on topics related to vision and brain research. Show less

These are premier research journals with reports on vision and ophthalmology problems. After carefully reading each scientific manuscript submitted, I recruit qualified scientists to serve as reviewers. Once the reviews are received, I assess their quality and recommend whether or not a manuscript should be revised and resubmitted by the authors. I make the final decision on whether or not a manusrcipt should be considered further for publication by the editor of the journal.
