  While completing my degree, I worked two consecutive tax seasons as a part-time intern on individual tax returns. I enjoyed utilizing my knowledge of tax law in this role, which also provided me with the opportunity to gain insight into the Tax side of Public accounting.

  While at Target, I started out spending my time on the sales floor stocking shelves and assisting customers with product location questions. I also supported the team by assisting at the cash registers upon request. Shortly after I started, I was invited to join the Plano Team. While on the Plano Team I followed provided instructions for the new shelving design and product placement.While at Target, I enjoyed the customer interaction and the fast pace that was required to get all my tasks completed in the allotted time.   I had the opportunity to get back into serving and spent a few months at Cracker Barrel. Again, I found myself interested in learning multiple aspects of the business. I spent time as a Prep Cook and Expo. I also had the opportunity to train new employees. My quick ascent to a trainer role was natural and successful.

  Dive Rescue International

  Director of Finance

  Over the years at Dive Rescue International, I experienced significant growth. I started as an Accounting Assistant, performing basic AP and AR duties. I quickly learned Quickbooks and became the in-house expert. In addition to learning Quickbooks, I learned the various processes within the other departments. Before long, I became someone others would turn to when they needed help.My transition from Accounting Assistant to Assistant Director of Finance was smooth and natural. While in that role, I was able to hire an Accounting Assistant and conduct the hiring and training of the new Accounting Assistant. Upon the Director of Finance's retirement, I moved into that role. Again, it was a seamless transition, as I had already been performing many of those duties. As the Director of Finance in addition to my regular duties, I am a member of the Management team who works with the CEO and Vice President to make global business decisions. Show less
