  Key functions:- Lead BIA on large projects- Helped build analysis capabilities in the team through training new recruits and junior analysts, defining the BIA’s roles and responsibilities, as well as setting up processes, methodologies and templates for use by the team. Identified and documented of the detailed functional requirements and business rules for a long-term, multi-million Rand project in the Telecommunications industry. This role focused primarily on using Telkom's Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence capabilities to enable product progress reporting for the Telkom Sales and Marketing Product Managers. Telkom's Data Warehouse was the largest in the Southern Hemisphere at the time. During my time in this division I researched and identified new ways to use the data it contained to provide insight into customer behaviour for the Marketing Division. In this position I began the transition from Administrator into a more specialized role. I used and honed my excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills, and learned a great deal about Information Technology in the Data Warehousing Environment. My contribution here meant that when my contract was up for renewal, I was offered a permanent position, in spite of the fact that virtually all openings were allocated as Employment Equity positions.
