      In the HR specialist role of Expatriate Assistant I executed Outbound Home based, Host Based, Temporary & Construction / Project Delegations acting as the main contact for the Siemens UK Business Units. The role required an understanding of the associated legal and fiscal requirements associated with working globally, plus practical experience of global compensation & benefit implications. I would consult on all related delegation matters and ensure that delegation services were delivered in compliance with mandatory Siemens Delegation Policies, Global Expatriate Management Processes and applicable law - both UK and host country (such as residency and working permits, taxation regulations, social security regulations, labour law and contractual law).       During this fixed-term contract, I was the first point of contact for all HR queries (e.g. absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management) supporting Medical Workforce across the Trust as a whole (3 acute hospitals) and their Managers. The small Medical Workforce Team sat as a specialist function within the wider HR Department providing advice and guidance on the nuances of Doctors and Consultants terms and conditions. I was responsible for monitoring the hours worked by Doctors in Training to ensuring that their rotas were compliant with the Doctors New Deal Contract and the European Working Time Directive. I acted as a point of reference for the Recruitment Team working closely with them to ensure that job offers, contracts and any published documentation relating to Medical Workforce vacancies were compliant. As an additional responsibility I also sat on Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Panels. The primary purpose of the role was to provide a comprehensive recruitment service in accordance with current employment legislation and NHS policy for identified services within the Trust and enabling the department to deliver an effective service ensuring accurate and prompt responses to all general Human Resources requests/queries. In addition to advising line managers on appropriate recruitment and selection techniques and attending recruitment events as required, I was responsible for: placing the advert on the NHS Jobs website; ordering and proof reading of external adverts; overseeing appropriate short-listing; inviting applicants to interview; sending conditional offer letters; carrying out pre-employment checks; with the agreement of the recruiting manager I either withdrew or confirmed the offer as unconditional. Once the successful candidate had started I would add them to our personnel database (ESR) and then prepare their contract for issue. I was the candidate's first port of call in providing advice on general terms and conditions of their new employment. I would also attend selection interview panels when it was deemed appropriate for the presence of HR.The payroll element of the role involved all in-house administrative processes concerned with changes in employment status (i.e. changes in salary, hours, location, position, allowances, personal details, breaks in service and terminations) are dealt with promptly and effectively in accordance with legal requirements and all current payroll contract, HR codes, policies and procedures.       As the named HR Advisor to a large number of schools (50+) in Lincolnshire and beyond, I was part of a professional HR Advisory Team of 6 people, delivering a high quality, comprehensive employee relations service that was focused on providing innovative and value-added business solutions to support Schools and Academies.The primary focus of the role was to remotely provide sound and professional advice and support on conditions of service (for both support staff and teaching staff), grievance, disciplinary, capability and health issues. Where appropriate, I would assist with the preparation and presentation of case material and attend meetings in an advisory capacity. In cases of a more serious nature, I would participate in high level strategy meetings that involved the presence of School Management, Children's Services, LADO and in some cases the Police.The role involved supporting Managers and Governors as appropriate in the delivery of HR specific initiatives identified within School Improvement Plans, such as organisational reviews and job evaluations.       In February 2021 I was invited to work on a new contract providing HR Support to NHS East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST) and support in resolving a large and complicated ER Caseload. The role was responsible for managing and co-ordinating the Trust’s employee relations casework, within an allocated portfolio, ensuring that case work was carried out in a timely, effective, and efficient way and in accordance with EEAST policies and procedures, current legislation and best practice. This involves providing sound and professional advice and support to line managers and the commissioning managers of formal investigations as well as liaising with the Investigations Team, HR Managers and Senior Executives to ensure matters were investigated thoroughly and decisions are made in a fair and consistent manner. Show less When I was first appointed by UHCW in 2015, whilst being part of the Wider HR Team based at Walsgrave Hospital, I worked as a "stand alone" HR Advisor based at and solely advising NHS Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group (NHS CRCCG). My role was to provide sound and professional advice and support on all generalist HR matters, writing and updating policies as required; encouraging best practice at all times and highlighting the risks of alternative action; briefing the Executive Team and Board Members on HR Data, identifying trends and making/implementing recommendations where appropriate. For the period of 2015-2017 I was responsible for overseeing the payroll and recruitment activities undertaken by NHS CRCCG (as it was known at the time) until those functions were outsourced in 2018. In addition to providing generalist HR advice and guidance my role supported a lot of change management activities, provision of HR training and undertaking job evaluations. Corporately I was also involved in procurement activities. I was TUPE transferred to AGEM CSU in December 2018 and where I worked within the HR Business Partner Team which was supporting the 3 CCG's which merged and are now known as NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB). Whilst providing a HR Service to the CCG’s, I was responsible for ensuring that the CCG's HR Web pages were current and compliant with current terms and conditions, legislation, policy and procedure and liaised with the Communications Team to ensure that staff were regularly updated as required. In December 2021 I temporarily moved into the Corporate Team of AGEM which was short-staffed and supported Senior HRBP’s within that Team before being invited to work on a new contract providing HR Support to East of England Ambulance Trust.
