  Completed my internship at the Innovation Center, located in the ITW's corporate office building. I worked on and accomplished:1. Compared Ansys Mechanical’s performance and accuracy to LS-DYNA by running a simulation on aHDPE waveform control joint prototype.2. Proved that results can be obtained in 1-2 hours compared to 1-3 days with accuracies within 5-10% just by using Ansys Mechanical, hence, improving productivity.3. Conducted a full factorial DOE on the PD3 dowel and the HDPE waveform prototype to explore theeffects of certain parameter changes on result optimization and used the best result of each to justifythe use of the waveform control joint to management4. Resolved a recurring failure to an aluminum rotary disc in a production machine used to producesocket head screws by running a simulation and used the results and SolidWorks to design a newconfiguration that ensured the disc is properly constrained and return production to full capacity Show less

  As a Product Engineer I worked on and accomplished:1. Designed and tested sheet metal brackets that resolved the customer’s (PACCAR) air line damageproblem by rerouting the air line in two different air ride suspensions seats ensuring no excessive bending or stretching on the air lines as the seats function2. Suggested and applied customer’s (CNH) seat swivel angle requirements without major designchanges by modifying the sheet metal upper housing of the suspension to include a slot at the specified angle to latch on3. Resolved a failure problem with a height adjusting cast in a seat suspension that existed for almost30 years by figuring out the cause and suggested an alternative material with better mechanical properties to make the cast out of4.
