      Aug 2015 - Jul 2018

I worked as the teaching assistant for Cell Biology for Engineers in the Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering for 5 semesters. In this class I taught students fundamental concepts in quantitative cell biology such as proper pipetting technique, how to purify protein, and how to run/analyze a Western blot. I also graded all quizzes, exams and lab reports.

Microfinance Grant Pappajohn Biomedical Institute Jun 2019 I was awarded the Pappajohn Biomedical Institute Microfinance Grant in 2019. Funds from the Microfinance Grant have enabled me to study Modeling Employing Limited Data (MELD). MELD is an algorithm that was first published by Professor Ken Dill's research group at Stony Brook University. MELD is a computational method that limits the conformational flexibility of proteins, resulting in protein folding simulations that fold at a faster rate. Through the Microfinance Grant, I have been able to… Show more I was awarded the Pappajohn Biomedical Institute Microfinance Grant in 2019. Krishnan B. Chandran Graduate Student Travel Award Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering May 2019 The Krishnan B. Chandran Graduate Student Travel Award provides funds for graduate students to travel to conferences. I was provided this travel award in 2019 and I used the funds to attend the CHARMM-Tinker 2019 conference at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. Attending this conference allowed me to interact with leading experts in computational biochemistry. At the conference I established a connection with Professor Pengyu Ren from the University of Texas at Austin. As a result, I spent the… Show more The Krishnan B.
