Therefore, my role is to facilitate, coordinate and, sometimes, deliver physical activity programmes.The role requires me to build relationships with the Indian community and their leaders to understand what physical opportunities they would like. I am also required to build relationships with delivery organisations to ensure that a culturally intelligent session is delivered ensuring that the participants have a positive and rewarding experience Show less The purpose of this role was to help West Auckland Lawn Bowls clubs introduce new Indian and Samoan participants to the sport of Lawn Bowls. It required me to create relationships with the leaders of the Lawn Bowls clubs and community organisations.An understanding of both these communities meant a mass advertising approach was not used, moreso I was responsible for connecting with formed community groups that would be open to trying out the sport.Through this initiative almost 200 new participants were introduced to Lawn Bowls with almost 50% returning.
