This placement enabled me to: develop my Photoshop skills; gain an understanding of an effective dispatch team; and understand the importance of effective public engagement via social media. Additionally, I was a sales member for Toft fest.

  As a Margo Selby intern, I learnt about the design and production processes of a contemporary woven textiles company. My role varied daily, it included: businessadministration; photography; assisting with photoshoots; setting up, and weaving on, an arm loom. I also assisted with setting up, preparing and working for trade shows and meeting clients.

  Some of the world's biggest brands (including Under Armour, Adidas and Tesco) rely on Slick Stitch to process and fulfil orders for customers. Slick Stitch presented me with the opportunity to shadow a different department each day including: embroidery, print, and finance. This gave me an insight into the various roles and responsibilities of each department.

  Studio Intern

  This role was split between the Dash and Miller (Design studio) and Bristol Weaving Mill (Micro Mill). I designed, set up and wove on a variety of different looms. I developed my understanding of a variety of weaving techniques and learnt how to use Pointcarre weave software. I assisted designers who were working closely with clients to develop design ideas through meetings, trend research, mood-boards, CADs and handloom samples.

  Within this role, I supported the team to plan and trade the Seasalt Dresses and Sleep department. I analysed and created actions on the weekly trade and had an in-depth knowledge of the range. I led on commitment and forecasting, managing multiple allocators and worked closely with the buying and design teams to range build. I consistently strived to achieve the best results for my team and the business. I am solution focused, prioritise effectively and I'm excited about new ideas and learning. As an Allocator, I supported the Merchandising team in achieving agreed sales and profit targets. I provided analysis and data as required, making effective use of all systems. I ensured we had the right stock, in the right place at the right time. I worked closely with buying and suppliers to manage products critical path to achieve required intake dates.
