  MGM Resorts International is a popular hotel and casino located in the heart of the strip and is home to thousands of visitors from around the world. MGM is recognized for having a diverse and engaged workplace. I worked in their backyard among 6.5 acres of fun! The MGM pool is the mecca for all Lifeguards. It consist of four pools, three whirlpools, one lazy river, a kiddie pool, and a waterfall. My job was to maintain constant surveillance of guests and responded immediately and appropriately to secure safety of guests in the event of emergency. Show less

  Americorps is a national volunteer organization focused on intensive community service work that address critical needs in areas across the country. My area of focus was working with at risk youth at the Yakima Police Athletic League. My Americorps term was sponsored by the City of Yakima Washington, Parks and Recreation. Accomplishments:✦ Volunteered over 1700 hours of community service and 80 hours of independent service to the city of Yakima Washington. ✦ Completed my independent yearly service project: Created a homeless awareness day and raised over $7,000 for a homeless youth scholarship fund.   The mission of Yakima Parks and Recreation is to provide beautiful places with quality recreation opportunities that enrich the well being of our communities. After completing my term with Americorps, I was offered an opportunity to run the Summer Park program. I worked close with the Yakima Parks and Recreation Director of Youth Services to create city-wide summer events for ages 5-18.   ESSN is a non-profit agency that helps people with disabilities or special needs become self-sufficient through direct services, education and community partnerships. I worked with the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and The Clark County School district to transition students ages 16-18 with special needs to college or the workforce.
