Daily tasks included counting and reconciling till float values, investigating cash and stock discrepancies, actioning stock transfers, auditing till transactions, liaising with internal audit and senior store management, and delivering outstanding customer service. I was also responsible for the training and development of a number of colleagues.   Based within EY Aberdeen's Assurance service line, I worked on both group and statutory audits for clients within the Oil & Gas, Oilfield Services and Food, Drink & Hospitality sectors. My experience in this role included:- Leading teams of up to four people reporting to Engagement Managers, including coaching; detailed review; and engagement reporting.- Evaluating and concluding on SOx control deficiencies, including communication to those charged with governance.- Identifying risks to on-time engagement delivery and resolving these as appropriate.- Communicating with and assisting with oversight of three overseas component auditors as part of a primary team group audit.- Identifying weakness in key processes through the use of data analytic tools and communicating recommendations to management.- Key audit team contact for clients.- Audit of complex areas, including but not limited to: IFRS 16 for a multinational group with a portfolio of 90+ leases, asset retirement obligations for an upstream operator, and a bond issuance on an overseas stock exchange.- Promoting efficient project management through the use of EY's audit software as part of my role of office champion for the platform.- Studying for a number of Test of Professional Skills (TPS) exams as part of my ICAS training contract.
