Phi Beta Kappa Society, Honor Society Harrisburg Area Community College Board nominated Dec 2010 Founded at William & Mary in Virginia in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest academic honor society in the United States. Only 10% of arts and sciences graduates are selected for membership. A GPA of 3.8 or higher is required to be invited, and an ongoing GPA of 3.5 or higher must be maintained.
