  As Resident Advisor, my main role was ensuring that my residents had a safe space to live. First and foremost, my goal as a Resident Advisor was interacting with the residents on my floor and area. I wanted everyone to feel safe if there was ever an problem, so I made it a goal to talk with at least three residents while I was on call. I participated in weekly staff meetings as well as monthly training sessions. I had to work with a team to ensure our residents were always safe, whether that be through routine fire drills, nightly duty rounds, and programming. Show less

  Volunteer English Teacher

  I was a volunteer English and Technology teacher at the Instituto de Educacion Integral de Magdalena Cervantes. IEIMC is a small private school that focuses on a whole education with an emphasis in ecological efforts. During my time with the school, I helped the students in the garden with planting, watering, and compost. I taught English and Technology to kindergarten through fifth grade students. I developed my own curriculum based on the students prior knowledge and topics of their interest. Part of our weekly classes involved spending a few hours at the river. I assisted the other teachers with topic lead discussions about the environment.As a teacher, I chaperoned a group of fifth graders to an ecological education conference. The students were able to visit a nearby river and wooded area to understand how connected flora and fauna are in the natural world through arts and crafts, games, and singing. Upon return, I helped to organize the student presentations to the other students. I also participated in co-hort retreats throughout the year. The Mexico program spends a week every year on the United States/Mexico border, exploring the challenges of migration. Through Frontera de Cristo, we had the opportunity to talk with migrants, learn about the history of the U.S./Mexico border, and witness the humanitarian work that is done at the border every day. This is by far one of the most moving, heart-retching experiences I have experienced. Show less

  Associate Project Manager

  As a project manager, I assist the sales team from the time of sale through the installation. My tasks include organizing materials for projects, assisting in material preparations, cropping, and organizing photos for production. I work closely with both the sales team and the production team to ensure that jobs go as smoothly as possible.
