  Activities and Societies: - Elected BAME students officer of the students union; represented BAME students at the students senate, proposed policies to improve the academic attainment of students of this constituency. - Equality and diversity ambassador; took part in several anti-racism campaigns within the University, facilitated a masterclass on "Privilege" for staff in the School of Biological Sciences. - Postgraduate Taught course ambassador; interacted with prospective students at open day and admission fairs. Received the Petroleum Technolgy Development Fund (PTDF) scholarship to undertake an MSc in Biotechnology and enterprise. Conducted an enterprise project in the production of a commercially viable over-the-counter device for diagnosis of Tuberculosis using urine samples. I studied for an MPhil in Genomic Medicine on the Gates Cambridge scholarship awarded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through the Gates Cambridge Trust. Conducted research on germline variants of breast cancer in younger vs older women.

It is a 3-month program that kicks off with an enterprise education weekend, followed by 10 weeks of workshops and weekly meetings with coaches, ultimately culminating a demo day for participants to pitch their startup to investors.

  She in Charge is a gender-based charity that seeks to empower women and girls, especially in rural areas where services barely reach. Many girls labour under oppressive norms that stifle their progression in life. Sometimes the biggest burden is not any existing physically overbearing influenced, but the deep-seated believe in the inferiority of their gender which has been ingrained in them by conscious and subconscious socialization. We seek to reverse engineer these thinking processes by holding conversations with girls and boys at a very young age about assumed gender roles in leadership and provide mentors for young women to follow.
