      In this role, I worked in one of the three administrations buildings for nationwide, I was taking calls from members of the public who specifically had queries relating to their mortgages. I typically handled persons who wanted to enquire and apply for a mortgage, meaning that I had to ensure they were suitable, running through eligibility checks and criteria. If they passed and they were suitable I would go through a decision in principle with them. I would ask for their personal financial situation and figures relating. I would have to be scripted for certain parts of the call to maintain compliance with the Financial Conduct Authority and prudential regulation authority. I would have to have difficult conversations with people around their suitability to lend if the application was declined. I also dealt with complaints and logging them trying to empathise with the customer and set their expectations for the businesses feedback. Show less

      In this role, I work in a specialist department for domestic abuse which presents an immediate challenge of being the highest risk area for the force. I investigate crimes from the point the job comes in to when it gets to court and an outcome is passed. I complete everything in between from the likes of suspect interviews, building case files, actively engaging with the victim in safeguarding them and if necessary moving them out of county. I receive action plans come back from the prosecution service which requires me to re look at evidence, revisit scenes or witnesses in a timely manner. I also have the responsibility of engaging with potential victims through the Clare’s law scheme and giving disclosures to them and assisting them through rational decision making.What I have developed through this role;Ability to make decisive decisions in a high pressures environment.Engage with people of a number of different communication platforms.Navigate local and national systems/databases.Making methodical plans to achieve a positive common goalA high sense of honesty and integrityTo be able to challenge accounts and have difficult conversations Write reports, take feedback and action any changes requested.Taking action and providing support in relation to safeguarding. Show less Responsible for the care and supervision of individuals held in custody. Ensure the safety and well-being of detainees, following strict protocols, regulations and legislation. My duties include recording personal details, conducting searches, maintaining order, and monitoring detainees' behaviour. I also facilitate the process of interviews, medical assessments, and court appearances. Played a crucial role in upholding the rights of detainees while maintaining security within the custodial environment. Show less As a special constable I was a volunteer police officer. Doing all the roles as a regular, but on the voluntary basis. I worked primarily in response and neighbourhoods sectors meaning I was frontline in full uniform being that public facing responder to active incidents, making quick decisions that impacted on persons lives and sometimes, having to actively engage and restrain persons in accordance with legislation. I would have to take a lot of information and process this to make sense to fill out crime reports and be an on the ground investigator.
