  I worked my first year of graduate school as an Assistant Hall Director for University Housing. I supervised two buildings with around 300 students and a Resident Assistant team of six. I supervised the Engineering Living Learning community and the Liberal Arts Living Learning community. I advised the area hall council and implemented large scale programs for the area. I adjudicated conduct cases for my area, collaborated in occupancy management, addressed facility concerns, and guided residents through various levels of development.   Graduate Assistant for Leadership Development

  I worked for Residence Life at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in my second year of graduate school as the new Graduate Assistant for Leadership Development. In this position I primarily advised our three leadership organizations: National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), Residence Hall Association (RHA), and Black Togetherness Organization (BTO). I trained and supervised the advisors of area hall councils. I co-supervised desk assistants in our office. I created new training & educational intiatives such as: Housing Leaders Fall Training, RHA's Campus Resource Forums, and more. I lead large programmatic efforts for each organization that incorporated collaboration with many departments across campus, including but not limited to, NRHH's Take Back the Night, BTO's Tunnel of Oppression, and RHA's Haunted House. I also co-chaired my departments' Diversity, Equity, and Identity committee that started new monthly trainings for professional staff on various topics of multiculturalism.
