One of the R&D department's mandate was to determine modes of failure and provide design recommendations for steel products consumed by Stelco's customers. Used CAD and CAE tools to analyze structural designs and collaborated with R&D metallurgists to improve customer designs.

Technical consulting lead to sell PLM applications for discrete manufacturing. Included customers in Automotive , Aerospace, High Tech and Electronics, and Heavy Equipment industries located in Eastern and Central USA and Canada.

Programs spanned Bill of Material Management, Design Management, Change Management and PLM integrations to ERP and SRM.UGS PLM was acquired by Siemens in 2007.
