  Project : Role of texture of pipeline steels in optimizing performance in hydrogen and corrosion environment. ● Investigated hydrogen embrittlement in pipeline steels, focusing on API (American Petroleum Institute) X60, X65, and X100 grades, to identify the role of texture in enhancing corrosion resistance and preventing structural failures ● Executed characterization of the texture and structure of the steel specimens using SEM, XRD, and EBSD ● Conducted comprehensive heat treatment experiments on API X100 steel, demonstrating a 21% reduction in the Hydrogen Embrittlement Index (HEI) through optimized heating at 780°C, followed by oil quenching, tempering at 720°C, and oil quenching ● Analyzed fatigue life difference across API steel grades and reported findings to a steel manufacturer, highlighting that variations in Niobium content between API X65 and X60 contributed to a 13% improvement in fatigue life in H-charged specimens Show less
