      As part of National Grid’s acquisition of Niagara Mohawk, served as a member of the integration team that delivered over $190 million in annual savings. Led transformation initiatives including end-to-end process review and change management activities.As in-house counsel, oversaw the share exchange process supporting Niagara Mohawk’s $3 billion merger with National Grid Group plc.Served as corporate counsel handling the divestiture of power generation assets and unregulated businesses, yielding over $2 billion. Ensured all legal and non-legal aspects of sale were completed once the company received regulatory approvals. Engaged cross-functional team to support due diligence and sales process. Built relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including supporting teams across multiple sites, senior executives, regulators and vendors. Provided testimony at regulatory hearings and supported development of regulatory filings. Managed $40 million annual vendor spend, directly negotiating contracts critical to operations. Key functions included delivering 85 million customer bills each year, processing $18 billion payments and managing policies and procedures to reduce $280 million in bad debt. Accomplishments:- Brought new vision, energy and organization to faltering credit and collections operations. Developed and implemented strategies to mitigate the impact of economic downturn. Halted decline and reduced bad debt expense by $100 million. Leveraged predictive analytics modeling used in the banking industry to introduce proactive strategies. Improved regulatory relationship by matching collection strategies to individual customer risk and ability to pay. - Following merger with KeySpan, implemented an integration plan and led consolidation of Customer Shared Services. Within one year, recruited 100 management employees and oversaw consolidation of customer systems.- Member of global project team leading efforts to build a Shared Services organization. Secured favorable labor terms for the company by negotiating a new union contract that resulted in reducing labor costs by two-thirds and cutting overhead in half.
