  During graduate school, I interned at Riverdale Mental Health Association. It was an Administrative fieldwork placement working with the Executive Director of a community mental health agency. I implemented their Consumer Satisfaction Survey, reorganized Foundation Grants and Appeals files, researched prospects in the community for outreach for a new geriatric services program, created a database of contacts from that geriatric outreach research, amongst other smaller research projects.

  Conducted health policy research on how states were changing their Medicaid programs due to modifications in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 and the relationship to mental health policy. Additional projects included research on managed care contracts at the state level, preparation of notes from Congressional hearings on mental health parity and funding for a homelessness re-authorization bill, attendance at Children's Defense Fund meetings on transition issues for children aging out of the child welfare system and subsequent reporting on those meetings to the Director of Legislative Affairs, and attendance at the Mental Health Legislative Group meetings with the Director of Legislative Affairs to keep abreast of mental health legislative issues on Capitol Hill.
