      Ceo

This was my first business. The idea is to organize class events in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It did not work the way I expected, since Bhopal was not prepared for such event planning at that time or my launch was not so appropriate. My biggest network learning was at this time. I moved to several cities such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi and explored the event management industry. I also organized some small events in Bhopal and provided back-end support in some events.

      Jul 2020 - Feb 2021
      Partnership officer

COVID-19 global pandemic and its associated containment measures have taken a heavy toll on economies and societies worldwide. In India, the initial national lockdown, imposed on 24th March and subsequently extended multiple times, has had a profound effect on employment and earnings. While the sudden lockdown severely affected all sections of the population in India, the groups that have been perhaps the most affected are the migrants or daily wage workers who form a large part of the unorganized sector in the nation.Indian migrant workers during the pandemic had to face multiple hardships. With factories and workplaces shut down due to the lockdown imposed in the country, millions of migrant workers had to deal with loss of income, food shortages and uncertainty about their future in unsettling ways. We witnessed millions of them migrating back to their villages – unprepared and ill-equipped. Evidently, most migrants in the country originate from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, followed by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Immediate concerns faced by such migrant workers related to food, shelter, healthcare, fear of getting infected or spreading the infection, loss of wages, concerns about the family, anxiety and fear.Sheopur and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed a similar situation, as thousands reverse migrated back to these districts due to the pandemic. As an immediate response to the chaos arising, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and partner organisations: Mahatma Gandhi Seva Ashram (MGSA) in Sheopur and Darshana Mahila Kalyan Samiti (DMKS) in Chhatarpur working with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), amended their Food and Nutrition Security program operating in the two districts – Sheopur and Chhatarpur – as an immediate response to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus and provide aid to the most vulnerable populations there. It is named FaNS COVID 19 Response Initiative. Show less
