  I was employed in the engineering department as the Lead Design Draughtsman. Fibre- wound is a non-metallic industry who caters largely for the chemical industries. Extensive quantities of grp/ frp pipes, pressure vessels, tanks and pvc lined tanks are designed and manufactured at their natal design and manufacturing department. My responsibilities included: To produce detailed manufacturing drawings for the client’s design approval. To comply with customer specifications and drawing office standards when producing manufacturing drawings of fibre-glass equipment.  Issuing and maintaining correct revisions through the manufacturing phase. Practicing general drawing office duties and working in accordance with SABS 0111 standard. Ensuring manufacturing drawings are marked-up and revised accordingly to As-Built status. Assist in closing out projects by issuing of As-Built drawings to clients. General management of the drawing office and the purchasing of consumables.  Serve as a supervisor to mechanical technicians in training during their experiential training in the drawing office. The plant consists of 6 electric arc furnaces.My duty was to provide drawing office functionalities to the plant via the services department. My responsibilities consist of the following:  To work closely with consultants, other disciplines, and Project/Study Managers to ensure that clients objectives are met in a timely manner on all layout drawings. To produce process plant layout drawings in 2D and 3D for feasibility studies and project executionusing PFD’s and P&ID’s and in line with DRA and client specifications. To produce detailed plate-work or mechanical equipment drawings in both 2D and 3D.  To produce pump-suction detail drawings of tanks and other mechanical equipment.  Civil outlines of piping supports, conveyors, water circuits and bunded areas.  To produce steelwork layout drawings of conveyor transfer towers and process circuits.  Layouts and details of material handling equipment (conveyors and chutes).  Mechanical General arrangement drawings.
