      responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the Heritage Park. The main responsibility of the position is to maximize the performance of overall operations including cultural programming, tours, retail, and facility use, both in terms of profitability and raising cultural awareness through programming. The main areas of activity that will be the responsibility of the MHP General Manager are: product and service operations, human resources, budget preparation and management, negotiation of pricing and delivery terms with suppliers and buyers, supplier relations, logistics and sales, customer care, information technology and administration of Membertou Heritage Park policies. Show less The Membertou Heritage Park is Aboriginal Cultural Center that is registered as a non-for-profit incorporation. The park consists of a five-acre site that offers a living history of the people of Membertou. A large indoor exhibit housed in an 5500 sq foot Architectural building, that offers the visitor full immersion to an ancient culture. Experience the stories and oral history regarding the people of the Community of Membertou through enactments and cultural presentations. This is complemented with a beautiful outside park area that visitors may that a walk with a Tour guide and/or Elder to learn about the unique history, heritage and culture through educational and interactive experiences. The Park will honour the spirituality and the strength of the Membertou people telling the story of Membertou, educate and share the Mi’kmaq culture and assist in preserving the Mi’kmaq heritage. Through the Membertou Heritage Park, all peoples will have the opportunity to touch, feel and learn while experiencing firsthand the rich culture that is Membertou. Programming for Membertou Heritage Park consists of educational activities focussing on the preservation of the Mi’kmaq heritage with the rest of the world. Learn Mi’kmaq dance and drum from a member of the Membertou community who will provide hands-on demonstration and instruction. (See staff for scheduling of events). Cultural awareness workshops available, on and off site, offered to schools, students, general public, special interest groups, government agencies, and private sector. Our state for the art center of 5,500 square and ample parking has a conference capability, offers a 700 sq foot conference meeting room with kitchen area. We offer on and off site catering options. Outdoors, the visitor will experience traditional medicine gardens, demonstration areas, storytelling and performances in the amphitheatre. The grounds are currently taking booking for weddings.
