My role as Chartered Engineer has involved a wide range of tasks. I have been involved in the detailed design phase of Doha Expressway, and the M4 Smart Motorway feasibility/prelim design. In July 2014 I was transferred to our Bangalore team for 3 months to help develop our growing design centre capability. My role was to help the team of 45 Engineers/CAD to develop and function like a team in the UK to help them integrate with the UK teams. I was also challenged with improving communication between the UK and Bangalore. Whilst there I improved the structure of the team to help them manage their projects more effectively and recruited a number of key staff. Now back in the UK I lead the UK Working Group for Highways structures to further improve how we work with the new team. I am leading a Chartership drive in Bangalore where I am responsible for managing the training of all Engineers within the Bangalore team.I am aiming to sit the IStructE exam for Chartership in July 2015.
