  The annual vulnerability assessment of Syrian refugees (VASyR) and refugees of other nationalities (VARON) is a nation-wide exercise aimed at providing a yearly, multi-sectoral update of the vulnerabilities of refugees living in Lebanon. Through surveys at the household level the assessments aim to provide insight on a variety of different themes including demographics, protection, health, shelter, socio-economic vulnerability, food consumption, food security, coping strategies, livelihoods, WASH and education.Key Responsibilities• Collected data for the Vulnerability Assessment of Syrian Refugees (VASyR) after undergoing comprehensive training by UNHCR, WFP and UNICEF.• Gathered and accurately recorded responses of over 70 different refugee households across Southern Lebanon for indicators that tackle demographics, education, nutrition and health, protection and child protection among others.   The Minett UNESCO Biosphere is the first and only biosphere reserve in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It has been recognized as part of the UNESCO “Man and the Biosphere” program since October 2020. • Designed a multi-level research study that explores the extent of soil contamination and ecotoxicitywith potentially toxic elements (PTEs) due to the long-lived smelting activities in the Minett region.• Developed, organized, and facilitated an interactive environmental education workshop on theimportance of monitoring and protecting forests and forest biodiversity in the form of a scavengerhunt and hike in the forest of Ellergronn, Esch-sur-Alzette.• Developed and facilitated a two-day interactive environmental education workshop under the title “TwoDays in the Life of an Environmental Scientist” for 16 teenager club members from the Science Club ofthe National Museum of Natural History.• Conceptualized and facilitated an advanced technical workshop on the applications of remote sensingin state and local government that was attended by various partners from public administration andacademia.• Established a long-term collaboration with the University of Luxembourg (UniLu), the Office of StudentLife for a sustained reach to the university student body of the region.• Organized an on-campus soil cake contest to raise awareness on the importance of soil health and thevarious functional roles that it plays as part of the World Food Program’s World Soil Day.• Authored a blog article that discusses the ways in which the youths can make a meaningful localcontribution and promote the wellbeing of the natural environment.
