      Through a NYS OASAS, NYPD and NYC Board of Education collaboratively funded and administered program, we engaged street youth (13 to 21 years old) in lower Manhattan, NYC and developed trusting and supportive relationships with them focused on encouraging, empowering and assisting them in re-entering the educational system, receiving substance abuse and mental heath services, re-connecting them with families and guardians as appropriate, and decreasing their risk factors for legal, custodial, law enforcement and correctional systems intervention.
