  As President, I was the figurehead for Glasgow University Sports Association. This role involves representing 12,000+ students and representing the University of Glasgow at local, national and international levels.I was responsible for taking a lead in the writing of the Associations first ever Strategic Plan.Main roles and Responsibilities:-Provide strategic leadership to the GUSA Council to ensure strong representation of student sport and recreation at the University of Glasgow;-Working in partnership with the Sport and Recreation Service to support the delivery of all aspects of sport and recreation to maximise student participation;-Budget holder for a £225,000+ budget;-Managing the handover process for all incoming and outgoing student council members;-Regularly meeting with staff, senior management, key stakeholders and members; -Working closely with the Marketing and Business Manager and Publicity convenor to raise the profile of sport and recreation at the University of Glasgow;-Overseeing the running of 48 sports clubs;-Chairing student and senior council meetings;-Liaising with the Glasgow University Union, the Queen Margaret Union and Glasgow University Student Representative Council to deliver cross campus events such as Freshers Week and Raising and Giving Week;-Upholding the constitution of the Association.
