  I spent a year as a technician working in a top performing school, to allow the effective teaching of their practical science curriculum, as well as, several outreach events.• Independently set up 40 practicals per week for around 500 students, by preparing chemicals and equipment and ensuring that everything was stored in a safe and secure way to align with CLEAPPS and COSHH guidelines.• Implemented ideas on sustainability of the department and different revision techniques for exam preparation.• Assisted with the school Christmas lectures and Physics Olympiad by trialing and demonstrating different practicals and managing 2x weekly workload.• Funded with £300 to attend the Technician's Summer Conference where I took part in workshops developing new skills and discovering different ways that scientific understanding can be improved through practical learning.   Brightside is a charity that helps around 8,000 young people annually and uses online mentoring to encourage confident and informed choices about future decisions.• Working in a team of 8 young people to enhance the current mentorship such as the implementation of a new video call platform.• Gave a speech at the 20th anniversary awards to over 150 people on my experiences on the benefits of mentoring.• Created a social media campaign on the charities work and how mentoring can impact the lives of young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.   Women in STEM have over 1,000 members and promote a range of events and campaigns aimed at supporting women in underrepresented fields.• Connected 30 society members with a mentor in their chosen industry to allow them to make competitive applications and gain greater insight into companies and career paths.• Gained corporate and non-profit sponsors and ran collaborative events, including securing £2,000 in funds from 4 partners.• Organised welfare events such as coffee mornings, an annual International Women's Day celebration and a Christmas Formal with each event involving 60 attendees and budget management.   Partaking in a 6 week placement with Make_Sense, a social enterprise consultancy, and Rennueva, a start up recycling plant to lead an environmental impact project.My role:• Trained in design thinking and systemic analysis to identify the problems, opportunities, causes and consequences faced by the start-up and create impactful solutions.• Leading a team of 11 volunteers through planning and delegating tasks to maximise prototyping ideas.• Managing the timeline of the 6 weeks to ensure key goals and deliverables are produced.Project Descriptions:• Advising the organisation on the transition to digitisation, including staff training and risk mitigation.• Collaborating with the software development team to streamline data collection, processing and output for donors and stakeholders.• A public outreach campaign to educate local people about Rennueva and the importance of maximizing product life cycles and maintaining a circular economy.
