Activities and Societies: After the semester at University I traveled for more than a month around south-east Asia. During this period, I had the chance to be in contact with a different culture, to meet new and fascinating religions and to learn about a part of history that I barely knew before. During the semester abroad at National Chengchi University I choose subjects from different fields: macroeconomics, finance, marketing and IT management. This choice was driven by my intention to complete my profile with additional knowledge on the subjects I felt less confident about. During the finance course I learned the base of financial forecasts and analysis in order to understand in which companies is best to invest. This choice was driven by my intention to complete my profile with additional knowledge on the subjects I felt less confident about. During the finance course I learned the base of financial forecasts and analysis in order to understand in which companies is best to invest. The IT management course gave me a general vision of the possible strategy a company can use in order to be competitive exploiting IT technology. The course had a special focus on enterprise software and faced actual topics. Finally, in the marketing course I used the Nielsen model in order to predict the sales for new product and/or service. The model exploit the data from before-use and after-use surveys and adjust them for factors such as the cultural background of the people interviewed, the frequency of use of the product and the price. Courses we're characterized by weekly deliveries and small classes with students coming from many different countries.During the Labor Economics Course, we analyzed the different institutions present in the labor market by looking at their efficiency and analyzing cases from the real world. The course in Experimental Economics was really interesting and introduce me to a new and non-conventional way to conduct economic research. During the course I also worked on a group-project during which we had to design our own economic experiment to test in the class. Show less

At the London School of Economics I attended a summer course in Environmental and Development Economic. The course applied standard micro and macroeconomic analysis to the field of the natural environment and sustainable development. Moreover, economics of international environmental problems have been studied, including the impact of trade and investment liberalization on the environment.
