      Whilst working as a Legal Assistant at Eversheds LLP, I worked within a Debt Recovery team which specialised in Debt Recovery Litigation for well known retail banks, financial institutions, insurance and utility companies. Within this team I was responsible for my own case-load, whilst also working with a colleague on a shared case-load focusing entirely on insolvency. This work entailed a full debt recovery service which included pre-litigation searches and negotiations, litigation and insolvency services.My responsibilities as a Legal Assistant involved:• Issuing claims against individuals and companies. • Drafting Judgment applications, Charging Order applications, Attachment of Earnings applications, Tomlin Orders, N244 applications, Witness Statements, Statutory Demands, Bankruptcy applications and Winding-up petitions.• Using various database systems for telephone negotiation, and collection on secured and unsecured debts.• Drafting and sending of various letters.• Logging, scanning and responding to post.• Communicating via the telephone, email and post with Solicitors, First Charge Holders, Debt Management companies, Clients, Official Receivers, Court Personnel, and Debtors. • Setting up new cases on the database.• Generating several types of reports for high profile clients.• Diary management. • Providing advice to clients on how best to secure or recover their debt.
