  Serco is an outsourcing company that specializes in public sector work. In Serco, I was working for Ecu Worldwide United Kingdom, which is a shipping & logistics company. In my tenure of more than four years with the company, I managed the different roles in operations of finance & accounts, with a special focus on the following:Credit Control:- Receiving remittances & doing the reconciliation with the clients’ account daily to clear the due payments.- Before the closing of the day, sharing the file of the overdue & disputed invoices with the front office in the UK for further action.- Clearing the paid invoices from the system by making entries daily.- Retrieving ageing reports from the system & doing follow-ups based on the credit buckets.- Every month sending the reports of clients to the management, for further action on overdue & disputed invoices.Netting:- Netting is a method of reducing risks in financial contracts by combining or aggregating multiple financial obligations to arrive at a net obligation amount. Netting is used to reduce settlement, credit & other financial risks between two or more parties.- At the start of the month, the intercompany sends the statement of accounts & invoices for reconciliation & settlements.- After the reconciliation of invoices with the system’s report & data, confirming payables & receivables.- Doing entries in the system once the settlement takes place to clear the invoices from the system.- Once all the process has been finished, then making the reports of overdue & disputed invoices. The report is then shared with the management & front office in the UK, for evaluation & further action.New System Transition & Training:- Coordinated with the front office & training team for the hassle-free system transition.- Once all the processes got settled, I made the SOP for the new system.- Effectively I had trained the people & new joiners in the team for various roles, responsibilities & processes.
