      Ph.D. research on Earthquake Response of GFRP-Reinforced Concrete Squat Walls. 8 squat walls were constructed and tested under simultaneous axial and simulated earthquake loads.       PhD research on Earthquake Response of FRP-Reinforced Concrete Squat Shear Walls.Research included testing 8 large-scale FRP-reinforced squat shear walls under simultaneous axial and pseudo-static, reversed-cyclic lateral loads. Two different test setups were designed and built to test the walls. Variable-angle, continuum truss models were developed to idealize the shear behavior of FRP-reinforced squat walls and formulate a series of streamline equations to estimate the effective shear stiffness. 90 FE analyses were conducted using FE-MultiPhys and LS-DYNA to propose a strut-and-tie model for predicting the peak shear strength. The FE models utilized a beam-truss idealization that was first developed at UCLA to simulate the shear-flexure interaction in shear walls. Show less
