Lead the transition of the entire customer base from a point to point T1 based system supporting legacy digital phones with one vendor to a hosted VOIP solution using a mix of WAN technologies with multiple vendors. This was a high risk forced transition that occurred in a short amount of time requiring a high level of coordination from multiple vendors and diverse customers. I lead the engineering, coordination with vendors and customers, scheduling of the transition, installation of the services, training of the customer bases and support of the new technologies. All of which required a hands on approach while leveraging the expertise of vendors I had developed relationships with throughout my years in Information Technology. Acted as the primary point of contact for customer support issues. Coordinated and scheduled the organization’s response to those issues. Managed customer expectations, technicians’ priorities, and worked with multiple vendors to insure minimal downtime.Project managed the installation of over a 1000 phones consisting of 50+ individual projects. Managed over 130 Windows and 25+ Linux servers that provide the infrastructure for these applications. Work closely with key stakeholders in the business unit to advice on support issues, user experience, upgrade paths/processes and alternate application. Directly supported mobile and online application impacting over 300,000 active customers. Leveraged existing technology (IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager/BigFix) to automate tasks within our Linux environment.
