  As a Teaching Assistant for Introductory Chemistry and General Chemistry, I teach lectures and explain laboratory procedures and techniques to students on a weekly basis. I answer questions and assist students during the lecture and lab or recitation class period, as well as during my office hours, and as needed via email. I am responsible for grading papers and managing the online classroom.

  As an intern at ADFS, I helped the employees scientists analyze and report data from various research projects and ongoing case investigations. This often took the form of Excel spreadsheets or PowerPoints that I would create. I learned how to operate and service multiple lab instruments used for evidence analysis, and was partially responsible for changing out gas canisters as it was needed. I was also partially responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the lab by performing tasks such as sorting case files, restocking lab equipment, and properly handling and disposing of biohazard waste. I was also able to learn lab techniques commonly used in forensic labs from experienced scientists that were employed at ADFS. Show less
