  AmeriCorps NCCC is a 10 month, full time, team based residential program for men and women ages 18-24, serving the United States doing community service in the areas of disaster relief, environmental stewardship, energy conservation, urban and rural development, and infrastructure improvement. During my time with AmeriCorps out of the Denver campus, I completed projects at the Lower Rio Grande Wildlife Sanctuary in south Texas doing invasive species removal, and at Lake Ouachita State Park in Arkansas doing trail work and park maintenance, in New Yor City working with the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief, at the Action Center food bank/homeless shelter non-profit in Denver, and with FEMA in Oklahoma City after the devastating tornadoes.
