      Jul 2019 - Sept 2024

As the Asia Director and Head of Programs at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), I was responsible for leading the development and implementation of GGGI programs across 16 member and partner countries in Asia: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar (suspended), Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. I was also a member of GGGI's Senior Management team. GGGI's Asia operations represent the organization's largest regional program, with 64 active projects covering 34% of GGGI country operations. Key achievements in the region for 2022 include supporting micro-enterprises in Nepal, the Philippines, and Uzbekistan to foster grassroots entrepreneurship and link rural communities to markets throughout the agricultural value chain. Additionally, we provided technical assistance for India's 600MW Floating Solar project, the world's largest grid-connected project on a water body, generating 1,314 million electricity units annually, powering 550,000 homes, reducing 1.2 million tCO2eq emissions each year, and creating 5,500 direct green jobs.In Mongolia, our efforts have mobilized EUR 32.5 million for retrofitting residential buildings, resulting in energy savings, a GHG emissions reduction of over 4 million tCO2eq, and improved thermal comfort for 53,000 residents across 375 building blocks. We are increasingly focusing on waste-to-energy and circular economy initiatives in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. In Vietnam, we supported the issuance of the country's first onshore, internationally verified local currency green bond, valued at USD 75 million. Our assistance in developing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for Lao PDR and Nepal led to their commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Additionally, we supported Indonesia's G20 Presidency and continue to support to mobilize USD 1 billion for green investments and implement their energy transition mechanism. Show less
