As part of the unit contact engineering team, I provide technical process engineering support to the daily operations of the Husky Lloydminster Upgrader (HLU). I am responsible for the crude unit, sulphur units, waste water unit, and flare system, and for developing and monitoring operating targets with a key focus on safe and reliable operation. Process Engineers are expected to identify plant vulnerabilities, resolve process issues in a timely manner, and work effectively as a team with area coordinators, environment, maintenance, and engineering personnel. Show less In plant engineering, the process engineer's responsibilities are to provide technical process design support to capital projects with the goal of eliminating or resolving plant issues to improve the HLU’s on-stream factor and process safety. They are required to work closely with the Operations, Maintenance and Engineering departments to ensure that daily production and plant reliability meets or exceeds the production plan. They lead scoping studies, risk assessments, HAZOPs, What-ifs, design reviws, MOCs, and more. Show less

The Maintenance Readiness team delivers a fit-for-purpose maintenance program for new projects, and facility enhancements. The Preventative Maintenance program is sustained through field-driven feedback and Reliability-driven analysis of asset performance. Our mission is to support facility maintenance through application of the organization’s asset management system. This includes maintenance program facilitation, project support, asset criticality assessments, sparing analysis, BOMs, PM plans, task list development, and continuous improvement. Show less As a Reliability Engineer supporting several SAGD facilities, I specialize in increasing equipment up-time and reducing costs through a series of proactive measures. Condition based maintenance (CBM) techniques are used to detect failures before they occur, saving time and money. I analyze CBM data including vibration measurement, infrared temperatures, and oil sampling results to initiate proactive maintenance. I mentor co-op students and EITs to facilitate criticality assessments which are a precursor to developing effective maintenance Strategies and identifying spare parts. Show less
