      Participated, and helped execute a program where residents from the neighborhoods of Globeville and Elyria-Swansea researched, analyzed and recommended transit improvements for their neighborhoods to City officials. I provided technical and administrative assistance, helping the residents analyze and prioritize the information gathered in order to present to the City. Some of the tasks are outlined below: • Assisted a group a residents with the research, analysis, and presentation of the existing conditions and proposed interventions and improvements for bus stops in the neighborhoods of Globeville and Elyria-Swansea.• Helped create maps and materials to analyze and prioritize the bus stops selected for improvements• Helped the group of residents get ready for presentations to city officials • Organized weekly meetings and workshops• Prepared group tours • All of the above was performed in Spanish. Some of the tasks performed during my time with RTD are the following: • Provided support to both the Senior Architect/Urban Designer and the Senior Landscape/Urban Designer• Participated in the planning and execution of a design charrette for a proposed BRT project. Created graphic plans and materials that helped direct and spark the conversation during the charrette. • Analyzed RTD’s standards regarding the design of the public realm along light rails tracks located next to a sidewalk.• Generated visuals to assist in the analysis of parking structures, paver design interventions and proposed monument-sign locations. • Drafted updates to existing Park-n-Ride parking lot layouts.• Performed parking analysis Show less

      Capstone Project as a MURP student

      The following project was developed for Northeast Denver Housing Center as part of the Capstone project for the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning of CU Denver. The project consisted in the research and development of practical urban design interventions for affordable housing. As I result of this project, I developed a toolkit to analyze different urban design interventions in terms of cost and value. Some of the tasks performed during this project are the following:• Performed a typology studio around building types in Stapleton• Performed research into low-cost urban design interventions that could complement the design of affordable housing projects, with special attention into shared open space and the connection to the public realm. • Created and develop a toolkit to help analyze different urban design interventions in terms of value and costs.
