  During my time at UNHCR Egypt, I played a critical role in managing refugee protection and registration operations, contributing to the protection of refugees and asylum-seekers in Egypt. As a Senior Protection and Registration Assistant, I led mobile registration missions and managed day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and protection for vulnerable populations. I supervised teams and collaborated with multiple UNHCR offices, while also handling complex casework involving refugees and migrants.Key responsibilities:* Led mobile registration missions, overseeing teams of up to 25 staff, handling the registration of over 2,000 applications per day in different regions across Egypt.* Acted as Registration Team Leader, supervising a team of 10 staff, managing daily operations, and monitoring staff performance to ensure high-quality services.* Conducted registration interviews and casework, including conducting investigations, assessing family unity, and identifying persons with special needs for referral to protection follow-up.* Collaborated with various UNHCR offices across the country and region to coordinate the onward movement of refugees and handle complex registration cases.* Managed crisis response activities, serving as a Zone Warden and Evacuation Facilitator, responsible for safety and emergency planning for UNHCR staff.* Prepared statistical reports, drafted registration data analysis, and contributed to operational reports and correspondences related to refugee protection and registration activities.* Delivered capacity building and training for UNHCR staff, providing on-the-job coaching, guidance, and leadership in registration processes.* Supported refugees and asylum-seekers by providing counseling on their rights, as well as information on UNHCR policies and procedures.This role strengthened my expertise in refugee protection, crisis management, and the development of sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations Show less

  As the Program Manager for the €925,000 Reclaim Sustainability! project in Egypt, I led the design and execution of an innovative program in the agriculture sector, aimed at advocating for inclusive and sustainable value chains. The project focused on ensuring fair representation of farmers, workers, and citizens while promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, decent work conditions, and fair value distribution. Key priorities included empowering women and youth, and advancing climate change resilience in agriculture.In this role, I:Led stakeholder engagement efforts, building strong partnerships with government agencies, private sector actors, development partners, and local communities to advocate for sustainability and inclusivity in agriculture.Managed all aspects of the project, including budgeting, resource allocation, and monitoring & evaluation, ensuring objectives were met on time and within budget.Coordinated advocacy campaigns and partnership creation with UN agencies, NGOs, youth organizations, and the private sector.Developed comprehensive financial and technical proposals, securing project funding and expanding the program’s impact.Produced regular reports on project performance and impact assessments for stakeholders.Focused on integrating women's and youth empowerment into project activities, supporting them as key drivers of change in Egypt's agricultural landscape.Through this project, I contributed to strengthening sustainable agricultural practices and empowering marginalized groups, while ensuring alignment with national development goals and global sustainability standards.
