      Apr 2013 - Jun 2013
      Office Clerk Intern

In this position, I validated documents, and I also organized them in alphabetical and numerical order. I also collaborated with staff at the front desk on administrative tasks, and I communicated directly with customers. This role additionally gave me the chance to guide customers to the correct offices or other destinations. I developed strong connections with coworkers and customers in this position. In fact, I assisted 20+ customers with food stamps or child assistance cases. I also expedited the process of helping a large number of customers on a hot summer day. Initially, a line of customers was long, and many customers became irate, demanding help immediately. I assisted senior staff by examining their appointment letters and informing their interviewees that their clients were ready to see them. • IKEA

      Dec 2016 - now

In this position, I ensure the efficient fulfillment of customer orders in various sales channels in the store. I make sure that the inventory is accurate upon receiving inbound goods, and I flow products to their final selling locations. One of my biggest accomplishments in this role is that I met sales, inventory, and customer service goals at a time when the store was unusually busy with a large number of customers and needed support from other departments to handle the inventory. I also helped to drive the smooth operation of the store during a disruptive renovation project. At the time, the escalator could not be operated as normal, so I made the suggestion to reverse the escalator so that it would go up instead of down. This ultimately enabled us to achieve our inventory goals by bringing carts and thus all necessary inventory into the store. Show less In this role, I assist customers in loading merchandise into their vehicles and in returning merchandise. I also maintain a balanced cart flow throughout the store/ home delivery areas. I work closely with furniture pickup and warehouse staff to ensure the integrity of merchandise. I furthermore report inoperable equipment to managers. In this position, I retrieve shopping carts from parking areas and ensure that loading zones remain clear as well. My other job duties include disassembling merchandise when necessary. I am also responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for co-workers, customers, and visitors, as well as reporting any safety hazards or concerns. I communicate effectively to managers any customer issues/concerns that cannot be resolved. Show less
